The snakes, where should be my hair,
Tremble when they think of Poseidon’s stare
Crumble when they relay the memories in my head
Weep when they unleash Death
The snakes, where should be my hair,
Weep, for they are in a monster’s lair
The lair created by unjust Wisdom
The lair created by the flawed system
Where they fail to provide me vengeance–
Instead, they ask for my repentance.
They pray for my allegiance
But do not right what was wronged.
“Because as a woman to men you belong
Because to be born a woman is to be indebted to men
So you must pay the price every now and then.”
